the right find

as i have noted before, i do tend to get things stuck in my head. thoughts i need to write down, stories i want to write, things i want to build and pictures i like to make.
pictures, i have always enjoyed taking pictures. i'm on my 3rd digital camera and as handy as it is, i still prefer a 35MM anyday of the week. my 35MM pictures are everywhere, not even sure where most of them are.
there is one picture, amoung everything i have done that is my favorite. and such a fav, i had it blown up to poster size. just a pic of Chicago, driving south on Lake Shore Drive; took it in Feb of 1984...22 years ago.
as i have played with my pictures over time, i come up with new ideas, to me that is, that i like to play with. this picture here was part of a special project for my friend Karen. i used this image along with a negative version of this pic and seperated the 2 with plexiglass, probably about 1/2 inch in between the 2 pix. this was on the top, the back pic had signatures of her friends all around the tree. with the space in between the two, it gave a real nice 3-D effect. she really dug it and it was, as i told myself, just a first in be being creative in that form.
i did do a second picture, for a lady that retired from our work. similar to what i did for Karen, but this time it was truly all hand made. Karen's i used and exsisting frame and built around it, for Mary i built it all by hand. the one done for Mary was special and kool, but expensive as hell to make.
so, i've been trying to come up with another way, maybe using exsisting frames and i think i may have come up with an idea of actualling screwing two frames together. been wanting to try something, so i think i will attempt something new for my dad as his B-day is on the 15th.
with Karen's and Mary's, i found stuff on the net i could use. the right pictures, the right poems and just the right things to say. well, since i have been writing more, i think it is about time i started using my own words. and since i know i have a lot of pictures, about time i started using those too.
projects like these, i have had a few others on my mind, but just couldn't get them made.
thought of doing one for John for his b-day, but nothing stood out enough that i could use, and besides, Karen and I bought him a new DVD player.
Karen's b-day was last month, she turned 50 and i wanted to do one for her. Karen is a close friend and is one that if i ever need anything, she'll do what she can. John is the same way and Coyote is sometimes. all three of them helped me out greatly after i was in the hospital with my leg problem and after my car accident....always nice knowing i have friends like that.
i'm still gonna do something i think for Karen...well, i keep telling myself that anyway.
Coyote i have thought about doing one, but haven't found what i need yet for it.
at sometime, i need to work on a new pic for myself too. but for me, i want at least 20x30, all hand made. would be nice to have a new pic above my desk.
